Une plage sauvage et isolée

Excellent

Tuturau Bay est une plage néo-zélandaise typique : isolée, difficile d'accès et peu fréquentée, elle permet de profiter pleinement de la nature.
Cette baie se situe à une cinquantaine de kilomètres à l'est d'Auckland. Pour s'y rendre il faut d'abord emprunter la Clevedon-Kawakawa road puis au niveau de Kawakawa bay il faut quitter l'axe principal pour continuer sur la kawakawa costoal road. Il s'agit d'une route sommaire en graviers mais elle longe constamment la côte et offre une vue magnifique sur le Hauraki Gulf. Tuturau bay se situe tout au bout de cette route côtière! Cette plage sauvage et semi-rocheuse est entourée d'une épaisse forêt et permet de se baigner à l'extrémité du Hauraki Gulf à l'endroit où il rencontre le Firth of Thames.

Pour profiter pleinement de la tranquilité du lieu on peut longer l'éperon rocher à l'est de la plage car il donne sur une autre baie plus grande et plus sauvage.
