Reconvertie en musée

La Halle aux Viandes, Vleeshal, se trouve sur la Grand'Place d'Haarlem. Il s'agit d'un bâtiment de style Renaissance plutôt exubérant, édifié en 1603 par Lieven de Key. Les sculptures, notamment de têtes de vache sont assez nombreuses.
La Halle fut inaugurée en 1604 sans festivité officielle en raison du mécontentement des bouchers qui voyaient leurs taxes grandement augmenter, la municipalité ayant choisi le plus coûteux des projets de l'architecte.
Le bâtiment a rempli son office de débit de boucherie jusqu'au 19ème siècle. Après avoir servi de caserne, puis de bibliothèque, c'est actuellement
