Cet ancien couvent est situé au centre ...

Cet ancien couvent est situé au centre de la Place de la Constitution, en faisant l’angle avec la rue Carrera. Il a été construit par Fray Baltasar de Moulina pour l’ordre d’Augustinos en 1671, sur un terrain où se trouvait autrefois la chapelle de San Roque. Le bâtiment comprend deux parties distinctes : l’église (église actuelle de Saint Augustin), et le couvent proprement dit (actuellement Maison de la Culture). L’église a un étage basilique et trois nefs, avec chœur et une couverture en bois d’inspiration mudéjare dans laquelle est placé la tour de Notre-Dame de Grâce. A l’intérieur, on trouve plusieurs retables baroques et sculptures.

Le couvent est construit autour d’un cloître central, accessible par un portail en pierre à trois corps sur lequel on trouve des sculptures représentant Notre-Dame de Grâce et Saint Augustin.
