La crypte Saint Oyand

Au cœur de l’ancienne église Saint Laurent, devenue aujourd’hui le musée archéologique, la crypte Saint Oyand est le joyaux du lieu. Vestige d’une église funéraire, elle date du VI° siècle et est toujours quasi intacte aujourd’hui alors que l’église a été détruite à une certaine époque. En forme de crox grècque est symbolisait la Sainte Trinité.
Fait notable, la crypte est ornée de colonnes avec des chapiteaux richement sculptées selon les codes de l’iconographie chrétienne de l’époque.
